    MOATS & BOATS ::: Claire's Bridal Shower Invitation

    MOATS & BOATS is a collaboration with my friend Jehoaddan Strain. We both graduated from Biola University this past Spring with Art degrees and decided in our "free" time to collaborate on paper goods :) This bridal shower invite was made with L-O-V-E for our dearest Claire - (you can see her engagement photos two posts below)! We used pink & gold since a bridal shower is definitely a girlish event.  Claire loves bunnies and we will be using them in her wedding suite, along with other critters - so fun! The envelopes are all hand-lined with Japanese printed sheets with a metallic gold pattern.   And coming soon . . . the formal invites :)

    Portrait Session ::: Jenna, my French pal

    A month or so ago one of my dear friends, former RA, Editor-in-Chief, co-worker, and European travel partner, Jenna, asked me to do a portrait session of she and her cousin, Diana. These photos were to be given to her grandmother as a gift, since the last time the two of them had photos taken was pre-1999. Time for an update if you ask me!  :) Jenna, you've become one of my confidants in the past few months and I'm so glad we've become closer friends and I get to see you everyday at work, love you!  Enjoy!

    Engagement Session ::: Claire & Jared

    One of my closest friends from college is getting married in January! & I get to be a bridesmaid!!  I shot their engagement photos  . . . (a while ago) but thought I'd share them anyway.  We took a walk down the street from my apartment and then drove to a bookstore in Echo Park. We had tons of fun finding backgrounds that were "them" and exploring the neighborhood and just hanging out,  Enjoy!

    Grizzly Bear ::: at the Hollywood Palladium

    Last night we went to see Grizzly Bear at the Palladium after eating at The Waffle (which was pretty tasty - Blueberry Waffle with Lemon Curd, YUM). Instead of reviewing the show, the long long neverending, but good performance I wanted to visit their most recent album Veckatimest's, cover art.

    It was created by William J'Obrien who happens to be an amazing fiber artist along with a fellow fiber artist Amelia Bauer who contributed by making the handdrawn type.  Their backgrounds in fiber art and found objects definitely gave this cover a strongly organic feel touching on wood-block printing, without the meticulous perfection needed for a clean, clear print.

    P.S. If you're wondering what Veckatimest is ::: it's a small, uninhabited island off the coast of Massachusetts.  Also, you can thank Pitchfork for these facts that added to my day.

    Baby Capri Noëlle

    Last weekend I hopped on the Amtrack Northbound to visit one of my closest friends, Rachel.  We've been friends since highschool and have remained close ever since.  She recently gave birth to her second little girl, Capri Noëlle (notice the lovely middle name :).  This was my first time meeting the new baby and I spent all weekend with her in my arms.  She's beautiful Rachel, congratulations!

    Happy 22 ::: A Fifties Affair

    October 3rd was my birthday and we celebrated by having a brunch at my apartment in the lovely Silver Lake and then went to explore the LA County Fair.  Most of us had never been there before so it was definitely of fun-filled experience with an overload of rides, games, animals, crowds, and corndogs. I don't eat hot dogs, but figured, I had to try a corndog to get the full effect. (I liked it.)

    Enjoy some of my favorites of the day :)
